A Quiet Moment With God

Do you need a quiet moment with God?   Bring your Bible and take a walk on The Way to spend a few soul enriching moments with our Lord and Savior.

Open the gate of The Way and enter with praise and thanksgiving.   As you cross the bridge, pray to our sweet savior, asking Him to forgive your sins.   Share with Him your concerns, worries and fears.  Then softly say His name, “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus”.   As you continue down the boardwalk, marvel at His paint brush stokes- the grass, flowers and trees.   He is our master painter and gardener.  “Worship the Lord in the splendor of His holiness.” (Psalm 29:2)  Stop at the first bench and read a favorite verse or a Psalm.   Listen for His quiet voice whispering through the grass and tree tops.  “The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.” (Psalm 29:4)  “Be still and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10)

Stroll on to the second bench.  Look out over the still waters.  Soak up His gentle, calming spirit. Close your eyes and feel his strength flow over you.   Read a favorite verse or a Psalm.  When you are ready, continue your walk to the third bench at the “T” in the boardwalk.  Sit and read another verse.  (Philippians 4:8)

Meditate on your verse.  Then listen.  You can almost hear the murmur of fellow Christians as they studied His word in the early morning hours at this spot.   When you are ready, move along the boardwalk to the fourth bench of praise.   Give thanks to God for His beautiful world, for the Grumpies and volunteers who worked to build The Way, for our pastors and their Biblical guidance, and the love of Christian friends.  Read Psalm 33.

As you leave the boardwalk and meander down the leafy path, feel the Holy Spirit stir within you.  Dwell in His calm peace.  Breathe deeply refreshing your soul.   Oh God, we meditate on your unfailing love as we worship in your beautiful creation.  Climb the slight slope to the end of the path.   Take this prayerful time shared with God as you leave The Way.   Rested, calm, and full of peace, you can know He travels with you.

I really enjoyed your words. You always seem to know the right words to say. When I close my eyes, I can feel the peace and joy. I can’t wait to go to The Way and enjoy those moments with God.
